Coconut Oil
This is definately my favourite Coconut Oil on the german market, you can buy 3x1000ml bottles, which come in a airtight glass, to get a discount.
The Oil is coldprocessed and organic, which is a must for coconut oil.
Coconut Milk from Aroy-D
It took me a while to find the perfect coconut milk.
The problem with coconut milk is that it only lasts after you`ve opened for ~3 days and most of them came in 400ml cans.
Cans aren`t the most healthy option for food (for emergencies, ok, but if you can avoid cans, do it).
I needed smaller ones, since you probably cannot eat 400ml of coconut milk in 3 days and also it should be in a Tetrapak instead of cans.
Aroy-D is the best and if you can get 125ml Tetrapaks even better. If you still cannot finish it fast enough, here a little trick!
Fill up icecube trays with it, that way it lasts longer!
Vitamin D3
Current study suggests that 2909 IU of Vitamin D3 per day is what the average person needs to achieve 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) concentrations of nmol/L or more in 97.5% of healthy individuals, so you are good to go taking 5000 IU capsules every other day!
To be on the safe side do two blood tests. Start taking Vitamin D3 5000 IU for several weeks or even months! Check your Vitamin D3 levels and act accordingly.
Fishoil / Krilloil
(Omega 3 – DHA/EPA)
Currently I`m taking less Omega 3 than back in the day because I`ve mostly cut out plant fats, which are high in Omega 6 fatty acids.
The Balance is important here!
I prefer capsules nowadays, high dosed 1-2g per day or a teaspoon of this high quality oil
Carlson Fishoil , or some Krilloil if you can afford it.
Creapure – Creatinemonohydrate
Creapure is my favourite form of Creatinemonohydrate, you can buy any kind of creatine, purity here means that for example normal Creatine has like 99.995% purity and Creapure has 99.9995% purity.
Why do I buy the more expensive Creapure instead of bland Creatinemonohydrate?
Diarrhea, I had it once from cheap creatine! It didn`t happen with creapure. People are different, if you wanna try a normal Creatine, do it, there is no secret benefit to other kinds of creatine, apart from the supplement company earning an extra buck.
Himalayan Salt
Real Salt is healthy. You need it for so many processes (Hormone production) in your body. The average salt is not a good idea though, since it includes anti-caking additives, trace minerals and undergoes chemical processing.
It must be either sea salt or himalayan salt (just not the iodized salt)!
I prefer the taste of himalayan salt. It`s important for adrenal function, blood pressure and hydration levels.
If you crave salty food, you are probably lacking salt! Ever had a hangover and just wanted to eat some fast food with high sodium? Well alcohol dehydrates you, water and minerals, so you are craving for sodium / salty foods.
It doesn`t have to be fast food though… just the right salt!
Rice flour
I don`t think gluten is bad for everyone, but it`s really bad for around 5% of the worlds population, who have a gluten allergy.
There is also a gluten intolerance, which has different impacts, from leaky gut, flatulence, bad skin and so on.
Try if you feel better in general without gluten, if not and you enjoy food containing gluten, why stop eating them?
My approach is different, I`m trying to reduce gluten, but not completely get rid of it in my diet, because if you do that and start eating a pizza or some bakery goods after weeks without eating it, you will feel terrible, because your body isn`t used to digest gluten anymore and suddenly you think you have issues with gluten.
So if you feel better without gluten and don`t want to give up gluten altogether, try reducing it for a while and see if that changes, instead of getting rid of it completely.
Reducing or eliminating gluten? I love rice flour, it`s the perfect substitute for flour and I actually like it more than regular flour, because I just enjoy the taste of rice.
